The UCNH Jaycees are joining Good Girls Give in their first annual walkathon on Sunday, October 23rd. Good Girls Give is a non-profit organization that aims to give individuals with severe disabilities the chance to receive their 'Dream Day'. It was founded in 2009 by Laurie Green after she discovered a long lost friend was diagnosed with Locked-In Syndrome. This disease made it impossible for him to walk or talk for himself. With the help of generous donors, Good Girls Give was able to donate equipment and physical training that insurance would not cover. Good Girls Give was also able to arrange a 'dream day' for him and his kids. Since then, Good Girls Give has made it a mission to provide others with disabilities their very own 'dream day'. Please join us in helping Good Girls Give continue to make dreams come true. Wine, Dine, and Donate 05/04/2011

The UCNH Jaycees will be participating in the Studio City/North Hollywood Relay for Life. This year's relay will be held May 21-22, 2011 at Walter Reed Middle School. At the Relay For Life event, our team will camp out overnight and take turns walking around the track to raise money and awareness to help the American Cancer Society create a world with less cancer and more birthdays. By joining or donating to our team, you will be a part of a life-changing event that gives everyone in the community a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against a disease that takes too much. Please support our efforts to fight cancer by joining our team or making a donation. Stay tuned for more information on the relay and how you can help make a difference. Contact us if you have any questions or are interested in the planning process. VISIT OUR TEAM PAGEGreetings From Our President 03/23/2011
Thank you for visiting the Universal City/North Hollywood Jaycees website. Our members are young people between the ages of 18 – 40 who have the desire to make a difference in their community. As you look around, I hope you find it both easy to use and inspiring. I was asked to be the President of the UCNH chapter starting in 2011. A great quote by Mark Twain and a motto I try to live by (and encourage others to as well) is: “Really great people make you feel that you, too, can become great.” The purpose of the UCNH Jaycees is to make a difference in our community whether it’s volunteer work, fund-raising with charities, or facilitating community service projects. We also focus on leadership and business skills, which will enhance personal growth and development. And finally, we like to embrace our city’s diversity through international involvement. We hope you find this website informative and useful as you learn more about us. Never hesitate to call, email or reach out to ask questions about our chapter. We look forward to meeting more great people and having you be a part of the UCNH Jaycees. Sincerely, Wendie Wilson President Greetings From Our President 03/21/2011
